More and more companies are becoming aware of no dig technology. This allows you to experience much-needed repairs for your pipelines. When you can skip the digging, suddenly repairs don’t seem so hard to coordinate and have completed.

There is more than one way to make this type of repair, but the most effective and most common is CIPP. Learn more below.

What is CIPP No Dig Repair?

The most common no dig solution is CIPP. This is a great option for almost any type of pipeline repair. There are very few limitations, and it can be used on nearly all pipe materials.

CIPP stands for “cured in place pipe.” It’s a liner material that is placed into the pipe using an electronic snake or a robot and then sealed to the pipe edges and cured to harden. It’s almost like a brand-new pipe within the pipe, but it doesn’t restrict the flow of the pipeline.

CIPP vs. Digging Solutions

When you compare CIPP to digging or trenching for repairs, there are major differences. With CIPP, there is little to no digging required, which means it is not invasive at all. The liner can be inserted and applied using minimal technology. In large-diameter pipes, CIPP is applied by a robot. With smaller pipelines, the snake-like device used is controlled via a video camera and remote.

When you choose to not use CIPP, it’s a different story. To access those pipes for repair, you use extensive digging practices. Digging typically means heavy machinery and high labor costs.

When you compare the two, you will find pros and cons to each. However, when you’re looking for something simple and less invasive, CIPP is the only plausible solution.

How Does CIPP No Dig Repair Work?

CIPP is simple. The process is quick, but you will need to allow for curing time. Here is how it typically works:

  1. Initial inspection with video camera
  2. Insert the CIPP device
  3. Allow the liner to dry and cure
  4. Complete a final inspection

Curing time can sometimes take several days, depending on the repair. However, new technology has greatly improved the process. Now, we can use UV lighting to help speed up the curing process.

You will be back in business in no time!

Use CIPP Almost Anywhere

CIPP is perfect for almost any type of repair. There are very few limitations to the materials. If you have pipelines that are heavily corroded or have collapsed, CIPP is not a feasible solution.

However, you can use this repair for practically everything else. Lean on CIPP for small to large diameters and any type of pipe materials as well. It’s the solution you can depend on.
