What to Look for in CIPP Contractors

Choosing CIPP contractors is something people do only once in their lives. After all, the lifespan of CIPP is 30-50 years in-ground. This lifespan also depends on the type, size, and material making up the pipe. With such a significant investment at stake, you should choose the CIPP contractors who will give you the best service for your money. There are four main ways to measure CIPP contractors: their certifications, their experience, their evaluations, and their equipment.

CIPP CERTIFICATION

The government does not yet standardize CIPP training, but that doesn’t mean you can skip out on the certification process. Every CIPP contractor has to be trained somewhere, and we can provide the best of the bunch. CIPP installations are complicated, but a well-trained expert can work without issues. In addition, Advanced Pipe Repair only works with certified contractors in order to guarantee high-quality work.

HONEST EVALUATIONS

CIPP contractors want to offer competitive estimates as much as anyone else does. However, most CIPP estimates cannot be conducted until a video inspection of the pipe has been completed. In addition, some lines are too damaged for CIPP to work. In these instances, the contractors must discuss your other options with you. If you still want trenchless pipe repair, pipe bursting may be an option.

You want to hire CIPP contractors who are honest about the limitations of an initial inspection. A complete video inspection is needed to confirm that a pipe is ready for cured-in-place pipe treatment. If your contractors want to insist that they “know” the pipe is fine without checking, move on to the next contractors. There’s no reason to rush into anything without getting a good look at it first. If CIPP contractors offer you a rough estimate, that’s fine—so long as it’s clear they’re basing it off what the pipe replacement will cost with no problems.

CUTTING-EDGE EQUIPMENT

CIPP is a pipeline technique in which every tool or piece of equipment must be complete and available. For example, large CIPP pipes may need a refrigerated truck to get them from point A to point B. The woven liners must be chilled so the epoxy or resin doesn’t run or stick. If you’re not seeing any actual equipment, skip the contractors. CIPP isn’t just an offshoot business. It requires dedication and the right tools to get the job done.
